A professor of physics, Fakhrizadeh is alleged to have led Venture Amad, the alleged covert programme that was established in 1989 to analysis the potential for constructing a nuclear bomb. It was shut down in 2003, based on the IAEA, although Mr Netanyahu stated the paperwork retrieved in 2018 confirmed Fakhrizadeh led a programme which secretly continued Venture Amad’s work.
